Graduate Research Assistant (Fall '21-Summer '22)
Amir Chamanara joined the group in September 2021 after he graduated from the University of Tehran, Iran. As an undergraduate, he studied the mechanical properties of the Friction Stir Welding (FSW) of Aluminum and Steel parts. In his Master’s, he researched the topology optimization of 3D photopolymer composites using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Genetic Algorithms (GA). Currently, he is seeking to leverage machine learning and optimization methods in advanced laser materials processing.
