Md Abdul Aziz
Graduate Research Assistant
Mechanical Aerospace & Manufacturing Engineering
Md Abdul Aziz is a first year Mechanical Engineering PhD student and a graduate research assistant at the University of Connecticut. His research interest includes energy efficiency, thermal, and electrochemical energy storage materials and systems. After earning his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Aziz completed four years of teaching in the Institute of Energy Engineering, DUET. Aziz has also earned an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from DUET. He wrote his thesis on the techno-economic performance evaluation of a solar-powered hybrid (thermal and electrochemical energy storage) cold storage. Additionally, he has completed some projects and collaborative research work related to energy storage materials and devices as a project director and researcher respectively.
As an incoming student in this research group, his primary research goal intends to characterize different energy storage materials, identify different energy harvesting technologies, and evaluate the performance of these materials and technologies for the next-generation batteries.
